From Antastha to Yoga Nidra
In this special workshop, Sanjeev will guide us through a powerful Antastha practice concluding with Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep), a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
The name “Antastha” in Sanskrit means “the deepest place”. Antastha Yoga is a holistic approach in which a human being is perceived in all its dimensions. Through hatha yoga postures practiced wearing a blindfold, Antastha Yoga works on different levels of the being. The CNS Series (Central Nervous System) has a specific positive effect on the nervous system and the endocrine glands. The asana sequence tunes the body in a way that both stimulates and strengthens the nervous system. It is based on fundamental scientific methods that lead the brain to deep relaxation as the movement sequences are executed blindfolded. Most of the brain capacity is used for seeing – and if this sense is removed, then the brain can turn itself off and the entire “human being” is able to find deeper relaxation. Additionally, this improves the release of several different hormones, mainly melatonin.
Ending this practice with Yoga Nidra will help us reach absolute relaxation.
