Orientation:
The course will starts 31 January 2010 @1600 Hrs till 18.00 with an orientation meeting. We will discuss the development of the course, daily programme and all the basic information about the course. We suggest that you reach the venue 3 days earlier so that you get the time to adjust and get over Jet lag and acclimatize your self.
The course Times:
The course runs from Monday to Saturday, starts at 6:00 AM and end at 19:00 including breaks (be open for changes).
A normal day looks like the following:
• 06:00 – 07:00 Meditation & Pranayama

• 07:00 – 08:30 Yoga

• Breakfast

• 10:00 – 13:00 Yoga Principles, Philosophy & Exercises

• Lunch Break

• 14:30 – 17:00 Teaching Practice with Feedback

• Stretch Break

• 17:30 – 19:00 Yoga

Sundays are free.

 

How to reach there:
You can book a taxi with Dunes, which is going to costs 1000INR(15 Euros or 22USD). Given the traffic it is a journey of 90min. you can call or send the email to dunes for booking with details of your flights. You can only cancel the taxi a day before otherwise you have to pay for it. Arambol is one of the most northerly beaches in Goa and also one of the most laid back and least commercial. The nearest main town is Mapusa which is served by a regular bus service taking 45 minutes or by taxi. From Mapusa you can branch out to the Goan capital Panjim which is just 20 minutes further on. There is also an extensive network of trains, long range buses and taxis around Goa.

 

WHAT TO BRING
1. Warm cloths (You may need some light warm cloths for evening and early mornings.
2. Comfortable Yoga cloths.
3. Your own mat(Mostly you can also buy from the surroundings).
4. Light walking shoes.
5. Anything else, which might need when you go to a beach like sunscreens etc.

 

FLIGHT DETAILS INFORMATION
Please ensure that Yogalife is aware of your arrival and departure details. Please send your flight date and time or notify any changes to info@yogalife.org as soon as they are known.

 

VISA
All foreign visitors must be in possession of a passport that is valid for at least 6 months past the date of entry into the country.

Participants should obtain visas to enter India before travelling. Please contact the Indian Embassy in your respective country to arrange for a valid visa prior to leaving to Goa.

If you are travelling before the course to India, make sure your visa covers the dates of the course.

 
FINANCIAL MATTERS
The monetary unit in India is the Indian Rupee (INR). The rate of exchange is US$1=45.47 INR and EUR€1=65.50 INR (as of January 10). You can change your currency at Delhi or Mumbai Airport on arrival. There is also Moneychanger at Duens holiday village. The ATM is in Mapusa 25 minutes drive.
You also need to make sure that you have paid all the dues with Yogalife. If there is any thing remaining we suggest that you take care of it before the orientation.

 

COMMUNICATION
The telephone country code for India is +91. Local mobile phone operators have roaming agreements with major operators. When dialling from a local booth then you just dial 0 instead of +91. You can buy a simcard, make sure your phone is unlocked. There is a shop located just outside the property, which provides Internet, mobile and phone access for domestic/international calls.

 

CLIMATE
Goa has a tropical climate with hot, humid weather for most of the year. In summer the temperatures can reach as high as 91°F (33°C) and there are monsoon rains from June to September. Goa has a short winter, lasting only from December to February, with temperatures averaging around 77°F (25°C).

 

MEDICAL ADVICE
There is a doctor not far from Duens and the local hospital is 25 min. drive in Mapusa.

There is a shop just outside the Dunes Holiday Village is also working as travel.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT FROM DUNES
You can take a taxi or scooter from Duens to go to other places.

* Temples, sights- In Mandrem, 2 minutes from the fish market there is a 30 minute walk that takes you to huge area with    100 years Banyan Tree surrounded by 3 temples.
* Markets -Arambol (hippy quarter of Goa), Anjuna, wed market , Arpura, Saturday night market.
